If we formally accept a creed or a system

we will thereafter arrest our intellectual development.

And the validation of this is self-evident when you convert to Roman Catholicism, Islamism, Communism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Shintoism, Zoroastrianism, Confucianism, Satanism, Capitalism . . . in fact, any -ism.
