From Oscar Wilds again.

As I continue to read the collected works of Oscar Wilde, I came across his argument for:

a new Hedonism that was to recreate life, and to save it from the harsh uncomely puritanism that is having, in our own day, its curious revival.

This was what he wrote of his time.

Then, reading it, I immediately saw the uncomely puritanism of our time:

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.

And I have to wonder which is worse:

the religious puritanism of Wilde's times or the this secular puritanism of our day.

The former tried to constrain human behaviour and the latter tries to constrain the mind.

Need I to speculate if it is really that difficult for you to argue which of the two is:

The Abomination of Desolation!

When will rise to end and cast off this "curious revival?"
