Multiculuralism

Here in the West has unfolded this term
'MULTICULTURALISM'.

Embedded in it is the presupposition that all cultures:
are 'equally valid' before the law in any nation of the West.

I agree with this; and I would have Canada to respect each ethnic culture that form part of the tapestry of our multicultural society.
Whether, in actuality, all cultures are equally valid before the law in places as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Sharia dominated parts of Nigeria, Indonesia, Iran etc, I do not know.

Now, it is critically important to recognize this distinction, to wit:
being equally valid and being equivalent

All cultures are:
NOT EQUIVALENT with each other.

They are not equivalent because when you apply whatever may be your chosen metrics to each and compare them, you will realize the horrendous discrepancies between Western nations and the rest.

It is for this that if all cultures are equivalent, the spread of emigration would not fall so heavily on the West. It would be equivalently distributed. And if so then as many would be hammering at the door to get into Outer Mongolia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, United Emirates, Albania as they would be into U.K., Australia and Canada.
