Are what the elite of the US about China is true?

From various sources from amidst the very top people of the US, you have very negative things said about China.
Yet on the other hand there are top people from US think tanks who have apparently a far more sane and temperate take on China.

If fear wins, then logic and sanity will be pushed out. And there will be all out mutual negatives from US on China and from China on US the same .  .  .  hopefully short of an all out nuke war. 

Is true, right now from the button of a US nuclear submarine the US can evaporate Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Chengdu?

Is it also true that right now from the button of a Chinese nuclear submarine China can evaporate Washington, Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans and San Francisco?

What does the US and China really want out of: 

genuine, sincere 

and 

truthful trade negotiations?

One thing is for sure. It is that one of them is doing hegemonic trade negotiations or both are! 

In which case, the solution is: 

both sides stop trading with each other.

America will suffer no more deficits with the Chinese!

And the Chinese will not feel intimidated and threatened by the US.

Both sides can just be friends with each other. And the rest of us be in peace, calm and tranquility.
