Once we got the notice that the US wanted Meng Manzhou, we should have instantly invited her to a first class SIA flight that was scheduled to leave in 10 minutes from Vancouver International Airport' and taken her to the airport for that flight.
Then the notice of what the US wanted could continue up the Canadian chain of command for a decision; and next day Canada would have advise the US re Canada's decision. It would act in full accord with the US request in our classic traditional role as ever subservient to the wishes to Big Brother. We would seize her into custody.
Next day, Canada would have shared her regrets that there was an all points search for her because there was difficulty finding her.
On the third day, the BC police force would have made the report that they think the lady is actually is not in Vancouver.
On the fourth day the BC police will declare its belief that the person in question is not in Vancouver and suspect that she might actually have taken a normal scheduled flight back to her daddy.
This was of course what we did not do.
Now we are really between our Scylla and Charybdis.
