The Ultimate Dehiscense

Here is a metaphor for a dehiscence:

It is one based on religion - the Sunni vs the Shia.

Its roots are founded in the child bride of the Holy Prophet, blessed be his name who, now grown, managed to get for her father, Abu Bakr, the title of Caliph of the Muslim Empire vs the power to track along its natural dynastic path to Ali, the husband of the daughter of the Holy Prophet.

The former were the Sunnis and formed the majority of Muslims; and they defined Ali and the daughter of the prophet and their followers as heretics; and they became the Shias.

The two sides simply cannot reconcile their differences. And the dichotomy and divergence between them has enlarged and become bigger and bigger over the centuries.

And with the help of the U.S. we are entangled in quagmire of their mess.
