Whaling

We are the top predator on earth. And yet, today, we have evolved to have concerns about the scope and scale of our killing of other dietary animals.

Would we wipe out the prairie bison of North America today as we once did in the age when their numbers were truly vast?

If we could, would we not save the dodo.

It is for this change in our stance about predation that this:

is a sad thing for most of us.

We sit back in bewilderment that Shinzo Abe is so stubborn over this matter . . . until we realize this:
Can you ask an American to discontinue eating beef steak in his diet?

We can if we are able to create a tofu equivalent that is as good as the real thing.
I have certainly had a tofu based hamburger that was pretty close to the real thing.
But then if you do this, the beef industry will be very angry!

So then, how do we solve this problem?
