U.S. and Iran

You will wonder how it is possible that:

 "the United States would be open to cooperating with Iran militarily"

This is like Cinderella willing to work in cahoots with the evil witch to whack the 2 wicked sisters.

Question:
Is this a wise move?

Lesson 1.
One who sups with the devil will need a very long spoon. However there is no suggestion that the U.S. is going to use a long spoon. In fact it seems this "open to cooperating" is like being open to being kissing buddies to deal with ISIS.

Lesson II:
If ISIS is not dealt with, it will prove the entire Bush/Blair war was an utter waste of time, blood and national treasure for the U.S. and the Brits. This would be an unspeakable and intolerable humiliation.

Question:
Will this offer of the olive branch by Kerry to Iran laced with maple syrup and honey please Israel and the Israeli U.S. lobby?
