Ability to decided to end his life volitionally with the power to do it.
In ancient Greece and in ancient Rome it was de rigeur for one do kill oneself if one was dishonoured. In Nippon, it was the same with the addition that your lord, shogun or emperor could order you to do so.. In ancient China, you would know that you end your life if you were dishonoured and you would certainly would have to kill yourself if the emperor wanted you to do so.
However in Western civilization, the Christian Church was against suicide.
In our view, this stance of the Christian Church is a flagrant denial of the God's gift to us to be able to decide when we wish to go and when we so decided to use the power in us to do it.
The Christian Church indexed to act in accord with our will to end our life was a mortal sin; and the forfeit for the doer was an eternity in the flames of Hell; and this would come about by the will of your own loving God!
Lesson:
The logic of the Christian Church on this matter needs to be debated and I am willing to take the con position to their pro.
