Cause and Effect

Everyone thinks by Cause and Effect.

Only a few know because they have read the work of Science and Sanity by Alfred Korzybski, know that Cause and Effect is only a part of the Aristotelian system of Cause and Effect.

For this, only a few know that there is a unique language to this Aristotelian system of Cause and Effect.

It was to take us 3 years to work it out and we published it in 1991, in our work, Don't Ask Why?!

We were born into its reality and our parents taught us its language.

We use it unconsciously and we are totally unaware of its consequences upon us.

We are proposing to write a new book about its consequences.

We are going to offer you a few illustrations of its consequences . . . only a few. The consequences in fact are massive.

So let us begin.

You have a Cause and then its Effect, C→E. Now we can see that a effect can be the cause of its effect, C→E, and so on.

This 'and so on' is linear logic. So from day one we have all been trapped in linear logic. It was for this that some time in the 1960s was the cry for lateral thinking and thinking out of the box,

What we know today is that this world is not a flat linear plane. In fact we live in a non-linear reality.

We are therefore thinking by a language that does not fit the reality in which we live,

If you live in Italy my advice is to live and enjoy the wonder of Italian cuisine. But then there are English people who insist having English food in their Italian resorts. This is foolish arrogance, stupidity and bigotry.

In all C→E is absolute certainty, If I let slip a glass of milk (C)
the glass of milk will shatter when it hits the floor and the milk splatters all over the place (E). This relationship C→E is an absolute certainty,

For all other variations of C→E, and there is an infinity of them, ever one of them is certain.

There we have all grown up in a reality of certainty.

It is because of this many are distressed by worry, anxiety, fear and panic when they have to face the unknown.

However, we all take this phenomenon as a natural part of life.

It damn well is not when the worry, anxiety, fear and panic becomes an overt psychopathology.

Because of we live in a reality of certainty, we can have our expectations of the inevitabilities of the effect. And we all live with our whole cargo of expectations right up to the rafters of our ceiling.

But is it really logical when we are in fact in the reality of the unknown?

So think about C→E. It has very serious consequences for all of us but because we live in it, we adapt to them, adjust to them, get used to them, habituate to them.

When we accommodate them we will have the entire repertoire to explain them away, justify them, offer wonderful reasons for them, have all manner of excuses for them.

Take it from me, at this level, we have all become insane.
