The war in Afghanistan cannot be won by the US. It certainly was never won by the Russians.
Why can't the US win? I do not know. Only that, it is an uncontroversial-fact-on-the-ground that the US cannot.
The only ones that might have succeeded were Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan . . . and even then, the claims that they might have been victorious by these two are contested.
If the US cannot win, what is the logic to put more men in.
It will be the sons and the daughters of the sans culottes of America who will pay the price with their blood for this intervention. It will not be the sons and daughters of the rich and powerful of America that will be effected.
