Could this be true?

If this is true:

it means that the Church has a lot to answer for all the previous claims that Peter's bones are already there under the High Alter of St. Peter's.

It comes down to being able to tell the truth:

We really did not know.

So, we made it up as we went along.

And the faithful are just 

a bunch of believing fools

and the just sucked it all in.

This is how it is that we have been

so successful in sucking the money from them

all these thousands of years.
