If you study the history of the demographics of Singapore and the history of the relationship between Singapore and Malaysia, you will come to realize how amazing this appointment it.

Despite the usual protest fringe, constitutionally the position is not by election.

Perhaps it is best it is by election. But until you change the Law, her appointment stands. In Canada we have a Governor General. He is not elected.
