There is a distinction between a historical fact versus what a person believed in and did.

If you cannot discern this distinction, then there will be a problem:

There was a politically motivated race riot in Malaysia with the slaughter of a number of Chinese Malaysian citizens in the late 1960s.

People know who was the then Prime Minister who had oversight of that outrage.

In his office this Prime Minister is a fact of history. For this, if they want to raise a stature to him, I have no objection.

Lucifer is a fact of our cultural myth and legends. If someone wanted to put a stature up of him, I am not going to object.

But I will continue to resist and fight his evil. That is an entirely different matter.

Mao Ze-dong was an evil man who was responsible for the death of tens of millions by starvation.

But as a historical fact that he did exists and was the Great Helmsman of China and some Chinese want to put a stature of him in Beijing, I am not going to object.

But I will continue to do everything I can to discredit him for his evil deeds.
