The conquest of the West by Genghis Khan had to be on the Silk Road and for this it had to be through the Central Asian States. 

They include Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The new Belt and Road enterprise has to pass through these states.

How Europe and Asia will prosper and flourish will pivot about these states.

From them is the road south into India, Persia and Mesopotamia.
