At last US prescence

China had invited the US to co-participate in this Belt and Road enterprise. 

The conference is about to begin. Now at the very last moment:

What the US does not seem to realize is that not a few nations that this new Silk Road will pass through are somewhat backward.

If they are going to co-participate they will have no choice but to wade into the era of modernity. 

It is just as China has had to. 

And now, China has to face humongous problems of putting in place the Rule of Law.

She is now waging an incredible war against corruption because under the Mandate of Heaven, the mandarin bureaucracy sent out its factors to rule its towns, cities, districts, counties and provinces. Power was absolute as it was transferred from the Emperor to them. 

For this corruption was the style of Chinese governance for millennia. As they say, "It is an ancient Chinese custom".

These nations will also have to face the same problems. It is a handsome price they will pay.

The ultimate is transparency and democracy.
