Transparency versus Privacy

The question is whether the average American taxpaying citizen is really keen to know who visits the white house:

My take on it is that they are not really bothered. Yeah, they may take a passing interest that the Queen of England is visiting. But are they really bothered re what night she be coming to the White House for her State Dinner and who will be there?

There is a clutch of political activist and inquisitive journalist who want to know.

Well, the standing resident does not wish to tell who is coming to see him. He has his right to privacy - just as you have. His and yours will take precedence over your inquisitive neighbour's wanting to know who is coming to see you.

And you have to assume that who comes The Donald is not the head of the Japanese Yakuza, Chief to the Chinese Tongs or the top Mafia Capo of Sicily. It they were the FBI will know. So that will be the fin of Trump.

So, what is all the ruckus about?

And if these inquisitive people did not know, will the consequence be some earth shaking tectonic displacement.

Aw! Shucks! NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN.
