I read an article in the Canadian national newspaper, the Globe and Mail. In it the writer described the devastation of towns and villages in the rust belt of America. They were once prosperous communities.
In one famed town, Allentown, you can buy a house for $15,000.00. This dollar figure for this house is a metaphor for the loss of the vibrancy America's industrial sinews.
Trump's speech was fitting and accurate about the conditions in the US that have to be repaired.
