American people trust and look up to the intelligence community, IC, with respect and awe. Much of the intelligentsia wish they had daily briefings from the US IC.
There is an automatic tilt to trust it.
Yet in a recent paper, that came to me, the US IC was faulted on five "intelligent" info briefings to the US president.
I regret I cannot remember all of them but each was a WHOPPER!
I can only remember two.
The first was a US IC briefing to the unfortunate JFK that all was well re Cuba, nothing to worry about. Two weeks later, Khrushchev's missiles were found to have to be in situ long before the above brilliant briefing to JFK.
This same unfortunate JFK was given another brilliant briefing by the US IC that there was no need to worry the Bay of Pigs attack. As the world knows, it turn out to be a debacle.
Only a President knows how much shit he is served up. But like the Good Obama, he daily sat in his daily load of possible crap.
Is it any wonder that Trump is opposed to doing so.
