The paradoxical problem for Israel

For a people who had to seek asylum but who now have a state, Israelis are now faced with people who seek asylum in their homeland.

You would think that they would be welcomed with open arms, but:

These refugees are not their kind in religion, language and race. It is no different from the problem that the French, Germans and Brits face, So . . . what is the problem that, from the get-go, they are not automatically assimilated into Israeli society?
