The sorrow of thievery

Lord Elgin of Unspeakable Ill Rupute stole the marble carvings of the Parthenon in Athens. They are now in the custody of the Br. Museum. The latter refuses the return these stolen items to Greece:

The problem is the legal precedent it will set.

If the British Museum does so, think of the value of US$ in trillions of stolen items that are now in the west that must be returned to their rightful owners.
