The UK.

Born in KL, Malaysia, my entire upbringing was in England and my education is British.
And I married an English maiden.
My British roots are very deep.

It therefore leaves me in a terrible quandry when i read this:

I know that today, Britain does not have the foundational base or the critical sinews to be a top military power.

Yet in high end politics, she still has incredible sway and influence.

If she has the Trident program, it affirms her place in the corridors of power. But is it worth this cost? And all the money goes to the US.

The US during the time of WW II had Britain pay for everything that she needed. The result was that at the end of WW II Britain was like a maiden who had spent a night with Dracula. She was truly weak and depleted of all her financial strength.

Now, Dracula is at her again.

My wish for Britain is that she find a way to be a contributing member in the corridors of power but with a much stronger economic base and with much more powerful financial sinews.

And to use her native born scientists to find ways to maintain and upgrade the clutch of Trident submarines that she has; and above all not pay a shilling towards the US 18 trillion dollar debt.
