but its underlying premise is unreal.

Germans are a proud and superior race. It has no emotion tug of wanting people who are aliens in race, language and religion into its polity. To do so will in the end entail problems of a kind that it has no desire or wanting to have to deal with. 

Yes, it was a hypocrisy, nay a LIE to say we are willing to open our doors to all refugees and we are willing to take in 800,000 of them in 2015.

I have argued for the EU to tell the truth in my previous blogs, just the way Australia has done. To lie only compounds the problem that has now become an avalanche upon the EU.
