The environmental mess of Tianjin.

This is a dreadful downside to the Tianjin blast:

To die from cyanide is because cyanide blocks the transfer of oxygen into living cells. You therefore die from oxygen lack - which is what happened to these fish.

And it is exactly as the Chinese officials have said:

The fish died of a lack of oxygen.

In uttering this they do not say that the death of the fish was the result of the Tianjin industrial explosion - and that was the real meta cause.

Be careful with the Chinese because they are devilish clever with words.
