Iranians are really so unreasonably sensitive to US influence.

We in the West enjoy the benignity and magnanimity of US influence from McDonald's to our upcoming visit to Graceland in Memphis, TN.

So it mystifies us to read this:

You really have to wonder what is the matter with them.

However, I was advised that after the US Embassy hostage taking by the Ayatollah Khomeini, kindly and extremely patient Iranian ladies carefully pasted together all the shredded normal and CIA documents. They were then translated and presented to the Ayatollah Khomeini.

It was immediately very soon after that, that the Ayatollah lost it and very unkindly flung the Satanic epithet at the US. But the funny thing was that he never embarrassed the US by revealing what it was that had so upset him.

I suppose for that the US still owes him.

I, in turn, have often wondered what it was that he read that sent over the cliff.
