To really grasp this is to know the full scope, range and depth of the enemy that you have before you.

To fight your enemy, you have to know him.

The sad part is that when a second President determines a war initiated by a previous President was misguided and he therefore is pulling out of it, totally misreads the state of affairs. Your pulling out is not the end of THE WAR your predecessor started. 
And it is a war that will not end. There is in fact currently no foreseeable time when it will end.

And no one can even think of what might have to be conditions for the war to end.
I certainly cannot even begin to surmise what would satisfy the Taliban to end the war, not when, amidst a slew of unforgivable sins, their code of Pushtuanwali has been so egregiously violated. This remains the US cardinal sin, not mortal sin but CARDINAL.
