Recently, US helicopters misread their maps and fired on their allies, an Afghan military outpost in Logar province, East Afghanistan. They killed 7 US trained Afghan soldiers.
Once the helicopters departed for lunch, the waiting Taliban, with unbridled delight for the unexpected help from the US, immediately mounted their assault on the same said outpost.
The Economist notes that morale is already low among Afghan soldiers fighting the Taliban and desertion in the midst of the soldiers is rife.
Well, can you blame them, when you big brother also whacks you.
