Blunt talk by Obama re gay rights in \Kenya.

I was in England when Alan Turing was murdered for his homosexuality and when Lord Montague of Beaulieu was sent to a prison term for a homosexual tryst. Who can ever forget what happened to Oscar Wilde?

The antipathy towards homosexuality was so deeply rooted that if Barack Obama came to England, then, with the intention to talk bluntly with the British about their utterly disagreeable mores over homosexuality, I really have to wonder how well treated he would be after his blunt talk to them.

This kind of bravura belongs to the characteristics of the "ugly American" that were dissected in other high intellectual forums long years ago. And for all that labour, it seems to have been of no benefit even to our Barack.

Now, he propose to whack the Kenyans for their singularly untoward mores towards homosexuality. These were the exact same mores of their former British colonial masters. Christian Kenyans still hold to what the Christian faith teaches them. And Muslim Kenyans hold to what their Islamic faith teaches them.

What on earth is blunt American talking by an American President going to do? How effective will blunt talking be?

You can already surmise the downsides he and the US will harvest for this piece of showboating.
