Is a union possible between Judaism the religion of World Jewry and Wahabism the religion of Saudi Arabia and of Osama bin Laden possible? After all both have the same dietary restrictions and the same way of the slaughter of animals. Both have very serious taboos about eating blood and blood products.
Of course not!
Yet as a subscriber to the Economist, I read of the current union between Israel and Saudi Arabia. It seems after a sixteen billion US dollar bridge from you know who to who, these two now share a dedicated front against IS!
Some people might see this as a marriage made in hell. I would not go so far as to describe this union in this way. But I find it very distressing. It is like marrying a beautiful vegan damsel to Count Dracula,
