On one hand we have Angela Merkel doing her best to contain her alarm of a Teutonic Christian xenophobic backlash following the Paris Charlie hebdo massacre and urging everyone to recognize and embrace Islam as a part of Germania.
In Manitoba, Canada, we have Hilary Clinton in a speech to its Chamber of Commerce warning everyone to be prepared for the generation war that is upon us against this particular strain of Islamic extremism that hate us.
If you can see the critical subtle differences in the semantics of these two ladies, then are you like me - a little confused?
