Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands

If you do not check with a map, you will have difficulty knowing what the fuss is all about.
The Senkaku/Diaoyu islands are sitting on the edge of the Chinese continental shelf, due east of the coast of China. They are some 500 miles SSW of the Nipponese island of Okinawa and over 2000 miles SSW of Tokyo.
By virtue of its geographical location, the Chinese assert that these island are an integral part of China. For similar and historical considerations China claims Taiwan as an integral part of it.
So, you can understand this:

Once the mighty Imperial Empire of Nippon invaded and took over Taiwan, South Korea, North Korea, Manchuria, China, French Indo-China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, a whole string of islands off the eastern sea board of China and many islands in the Pacific. And during this time as a little boy in Malaysia, I now thank Nippon for the learning lesson of life - what it means to starve!

Imperial Nippon's army was invading Myanmar and thrusting into India and it was spear heading into Australia.
And the Imperial Empire of Nippon did many bad things. Thus, the Imperial Empire of Nippon did things on the Chinese comparable to one Dr. Mengele of medical research fame; and it inflicted on Nanjing its famed massacre, et alia.
It is such a pity that PM Abe hankers for Nippon's past glories and infamies.
When is enough, enough?
