The dream of all nations is to be able to ensure their sovereignty. And today if buy fighter jets from say the U.S., there are legal limitations and technical constraints as to how you may use them.

Thus if circumstances took such a nasty turn that you wanted the jet to bomb a site that the U.S. does not approve, you are done. You just could not do it.

However, if you produce your own, you are on an entirely different page. So here is what India has finally done:
